| In August of 2004 outgoing Assistant Bishop, Jerry Whitaker from Thebes, Illinois was replaced by Bishop George Valentine Sr. from Memphis, Tennessee. Bishop Valentine comes to this office with over three decades of ministry experience. In December of 1976 Brother Valentine was hired by the legendary Rev Al Green to assist in the setup and establishment of Full Gospel Tabernacle in Memphis, TN. He is a dear and trusted friend of Memphis' first African-American Mayor, Dr. Willie W. Hereton. They have known each other since the first grade. Bishop Valentine attended DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois and majored in Business Administration. He was Ordained an Elder of the Church of God in Christ by the legendary J.O. Patterson Sr. in 1974. He helped organize and create the Bishop Charles Harrison Mason Bible College in Memphis, TN, assisting Elder Delano Ellis in the college's setup and mission. He was among the first to attend the C. H. Mason Bible College as well. He has served and been a member of Al Green's Full Gospel Tabernacle for over 27 years.
